Joker Resorts has announced that the opening of its Chamonix Casino Hotel Resort in Cripple Creek has been rescheduled to December 26. The new date was revealed in Full House Resorts’ earnings announcement for the first quarter, which ended on March 31. Initially, the company had projected a mid-2023 opening for the resort. Full House Resorts CEO Daniel R. Lee confirmed that December 26 is now the set date for the opening. The resort aims to provide a near-complete experience, including three hotel towers, a new casino, a fine-dining restaurant and a parking garage. The company looks forward to welcoming its first guests to what they believe will be a unique casino destination in Colorado.
Chamonix to function first extravagance guest areas in marketplace
The Chamonix Casino Hotel Resort, located adjacent to Bronco Billy’s Casino in Cripple Creek, Colorado, is set to offer a range of amenities and enhance the town’s tourism offerings. The resort, featuring elegant European styling with a touch of Colorado charm, aims to provide the most exciting casino experience in the state.
The Chamonix will include:
- 310 four-star rooms
- VIP suites
- spacious casino floor
- fine dining options
- meeting and event space
- rooftop pool
- luxury spa
- 300-vehicle self-parking garage
It will also be the first luxury hotel in the Cripple Creek area. With its completion, the Chamonix is expected to double the accommodation capacity in Cripple Creek, supporting the town’s tourism industry. Visitors to Cripple Creek can also enjoy various outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, fishing and hunting in the surrounding area, including the nearby Pikes Peak.
Fine eating at Chamonix to be overseen by gifted chef
Craig Dakake, known for his work at Barry’s Downtown Prime and N9NE Steakhouse in Las Vegas, will be operating the fine-dining restaurant at the Chamonix Casino Hotel Resort. With Dakake’s involvement, Full House Resorts aims to feature one of Colorado’s best restaurants at the Chamonix. Dakake brings an impressive background in the restaurant industry, having started his career at the renowned Aureole restaurants in New York and Las Vegas, both of which received multiple awards during his time there. He was also part of the opening team at N9NE Steakhouse, which has been recognized as one of the best restaurants in the world by various publications such as Condé Nast Traveler, Vegas Magazine, Wine Spectator and Gourmet Magazine.
Full House Resort’ s primary quarter reveals massive income increase
Joker Resorts reported a revenue of $50.1 million for the first quarter, representing a 21% increase from the fourth-quarter revenue of $41.4 million in 2022. However, the company incurred a net loss of $11.4 million, which is primarily attributed to the opening of The Temporary by American Place in Waukegan, IL and the Chamonix project. CEO Daniel R. Lee emphasized the significance of the quarter for the company’s future, particularly highlighting the contribution of The Temporary by American Place: “This was a transformative quarter for the company, with the first phase of our American Place project now operational and already contributing significantly to our financial results. In the first 5 months of operations, The Temporary by American Place generated $10.4 million in revenue and $3.6 million in Adjusted Property EBITDA, resulting in an Adjusted Property EBITDA margin of 34.3%.” The company’s Western segment, which includes Grand Villa Casino in Incline Village, NV, Stockman’s Casino in Fallon, NV and Bronco Billy’s, experienced a decrease in revenue. The segment generated $8.1 million compared to $8.6 million in the previous quarter. This decrease is attributed to the temporary loss of parking for Bronco Billy’s due to the Chamonix construction and heavy snowfall in Lake Tahoe near Incline Village and in Colorado.
