Beginning November 15th, the historic Stapleton International Airport air traffic control tower, which has been off-limits to the public for several years, will finally open its doors for tours. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the towering structure, standing at a height of 164 feet.
When it opened in 1995, Denver International Airport replaced the previous airport on the site. Today, the location has been transformed into FlyteCo, a restaurant and brew pub with an aviation theme.
The $10 tours every Wednesday have limited spots available for individuals aged 10 years and older. Please note that participants should be able to climb 11 flights of stairs, as there is no elevator.
From the tower’s summit, visitors can behold panoramic views of the Central Park neighborhood, constructed on the former airport premises, as well as the encompassing Rocky Mountain range in all its 360-degree glory.
