Starting in Thornton and concluding in Castle Rock, a police chase resulted in a deputy-involved shooting as well as the heartwarming reunion of a missing dog with its owner.
The entirety of the chase and standoff witnessed the presence of a stolen dog, as confirmed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Kyle Williamson, the suspect, sustained gunshot wounds from deputies following a prolonged chase in which he opened fire at law enforcement officials and collided with numerous vehicles. It is anticipated that he will recover from his injuries.
The dog went unnoticed by the deputies initially, but upon reviewing the bodycam footage, they eventually saw him. Nevertheless, it was three women from Castle Rock who discovered the dog and connected the dots.

Maylene Plumadore, who noticed the dog near the railroad tracks on the side of the road during her lunch break on Wednesday, exclaimed, “I caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of my eye, and when I turned to look, it turned out to be this enormous dog.”
To seek assistance with the dog, she reached out to her friends Caddie and Carly Rima, requesting their presence.
According to Caddie Rima, he appeared to be more than just a lost dog; he seemed to be frightened by something.
The collar nearby was labeled “Mister” in marker along with a contact number, yet no one picked up when dialed.
Why would the women connect the lost dog to that morning’s violent police chase?
The dog was brought to a vet close by, where they found a microchip embedded in him. The microchip contained valuable details such as the dog’s name and the contact information of his owner.

Major’s owner received a call from the vet, leaving the women in astonishment upon discovering that their beloved dog had been stolen in Thornton seven months prior.
According to Carly, the owner simply believes that this is all a dream and finds it difficult to accept that it is actually occurring.
Without delay, they drove Major to Thornton for the heartfelt reunion.
Carly described the scene, as he stood still for a moment before rushing towards her, showering her with kisses. The heartfelt display moved everyone witnessing it, evoking emotions and bringing tears to their eyes. Carly found the moment incredibly beautiful.
With tears of joy streaming down their face, the owner exclaims, “I have never ceased searching for you!” as they tightly embrace Major in the heartwarming reunion video.
Amidst her tears, she revealed that Major had been taken by an individual entrusted with his care, only to never bring him back and cease all contact with the owner. She identified the culprit as Kyle Williamson and presented Carly with a photograph as evidence.
The women believed the story had concluded, only to find out hours later that the Douglas County Sheriff had identified Williamson as the suspect in Wednesday’s pursuit.

Carly confirmed, “Indeed, it was that individual who took the dog.”
Suddenly, the picture became clear.
Carly stated that the dog was in the car throughout the chase, engaging in activities such as smashing into cars, shooting at people, and attempting to hit officers.
Major, who had been stolen from his owner months ago, managed to miraculously survive a police chase and shootout. According to surveillance footage from a nearby 7-Eleven, Major was spotted right in the midst of the perilous standoff. It is highly probable that he took advantage of the ensuing chaos to run away, only to be eventually discovered and reunited with his family.
Carly expressed her satisfaction with the ending of the story, noting that the bad guy would finally be incarcerated and the dog had successfully reunited with its owner.
According to the women, the reunion would not have been possible without Major being microchipped. This serves as a reminder to all pet owners to ensure their pets can be identified in case they go missing or are stolen.

Although Major’s owner couldn’t immediately speak with CBS News Colorado, her family conveyed the message that she tirelessly searched for him and considers finding him a blessing.
CBS News Colorado reports that the owner has notified the Thornton police about Major’s theft. The authorities are currently investigating the case and considering the possibility of pressing charges against Williamson in connection with Major.
