Britney Spears says in her upcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me,” that her high-profile romance with Justin Timberlake wasn’t what it seemed, and that she had an abortion while they were dating.
In her memoir, on page 74, Spears reflects on her relationship with Justin and admits to being aware of a few instances when he had betrayed her trust. Despite being deeply infatuated and deeply in love at the time, she chose to overlook these incidents, even though the tabloids were relentless in their attempts to humiliate her.
She recounts, “During our relationship, there was a time when I found out I was expecting a baby with Justin. It came as a surprise, but I didn’t consider it a tragedy. My love for Justin was immense… However, Justin’s reaction to the pregnancy was far from joyful.”
She says, “Had it solely been my decision, I would have never done it. However, Justin was adamant about not wanting to be a father.”
The couple’s highly publicized love story commenced in the early 2000s, captivating fans across the globe. Eventually, their relationship experienced a very prominent split.
CBS News has made contact with Timberlake’s representatives for a statement, but they have not received a response yet.
“Next Tuesday, “The Woman in Me” will be released by Simon & Schuster, a division of Paramount Global which is the parent company of CBS News. This week, exclusive excerpts from the book will be showcased on “CBS Mornings” and People magazine’s platforms in anticipation of its release.”
