NEW YORK — A driver is in custody after allegedly hitting and killing a man on a moped in the Bronx on Saturday.
It happened around 2:30 p.m. at Intervale Avenue and Fox Street in Longwood.
We’re told a 28-year-old woman driving a red Honda Civic slammed into a 23-year-old man on a moped.
Police say when officers arrived, the victim had trauma throughout his body. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition and later died.
We are told the driver stayed on scene.
The cause of the crash is unclear at this time.
We’re told the driver of the car also went to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Police say she was taken into custody. It’s still unclear what charges, if any, she will face.
We are also waiting to learn more about the victim. Police say the family has not been notified yet.
