NEW YORK — New York Comic Con is back.
The annual event started Thursday at the Javits Center.
“Being fun, exciting, and enjoyable,” expressed 9-year-old Lucas Durand.
The event’s immense popularity prompts individuals to navigate through massive crowds, even resorting to crawling, in order to partake in the celebration of all things vibrant, luminous, amusing, extraordinary, and spine-chilling within the realms of comics, anime, gaming, and blockbuster entertainment, whether projected on large or small screens.
The spectators witnessed the impressive appearance of Gear 5, the larger-than-life balloon rendition from the acclaimed series One Piece. Additionally, Justin Moy from New Jersey astounded the crowd with his remarkable portrayal of the character.
Moy, from Ridgefield Park, proudly shared, “I am the one who personally sews and creates everything. It’s a special connection because we understand each other. When I encounter people, we instantly relate and engage in conversations due to our shared experiences.”
Yehuda Greenfield, a resident of Kew Gardens, Queens, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Being here is an absolute blast! I absolutely adore it!”
Wolf Rivera of Parkchester identified himself as Freddy Fazbear from the popular horror game ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s.’

Another individual expressed, “Comic Con is an unpredictable experience. The atmosphere is incredibly enjoyable, as anyone can become a celebrity.”
Actors, directors, and artists who breathe life into unforgettable characters were among the VIPs present.
“I go by the name Edgardo Miranda Rodriguez, and I am both a graphic novelist and philanthropist. I am the mastermind behind the creation of the Afro Latina superhero known as La Boronquena, originating right here in the vibrant city of New York. Therefore, having the opportunity to rejoice and connect with fellow enthusiasts at the New York Comic Con holds immense significance,” expressed Rodriguez.
From now until Sunday, fans have the opportunity to visit the Javits Center and fully immerse themselves in exhilarating new realms.
This year’s Comic Con will feature panel discussions on various exciting topics. Attendees can look forward to an engaging conversation with the cast and creatives of the beloved sci-fi series “Doctor Who,” which has been running for a significant period.
