WASHINGTON — Rep. George Santos says he was accosted by what he calls an anti-Israel protester Friday.
The Long Island congressman could be heard shouting in a hallway on Capitol Hill.
He expressed his disapproval by stating, “Their presence here should be prohibited. The events unfolding in Israel are truly repulsive, that’s how I perceive it.”
Later on, a man was spotted in the hallway, restrained by handcuffs and encircled by officers from the Capitol Police.
Investigators have refrained from providing further details on the exact sequence of events.
