NEW YORK — Jewish New Yorkers are coming together across the city to support each other and Israel.
On Thursday night, CBS New York embarked on visits to numerous communities.
Boxes of Band-Aids that were being packed up and shipped out to Israel had handwritten notes on top.
Israel Kugel of the Chabad Young Professional of the Upper West Side stated that the individuals in this room truly empathize with the pain experienced by others. They can sense the emotions and the heartfelt connection. This is evident through the overwhelming display of love exhibited by everyone present.

Within six hours of issuing the call on Thursday afternoon, the organization had already amassed hundreds of donations. These contributions encompassed a wide range of items, from first aid supplies for Israel Defense Forces soldiers to toys and clothing for their families.
Kugel pointed out that one positive aspect is how the strength and solidarity of the Jewish people are truly evident.
Boxes that were headed directly to the airport were spotted by CBS New York, and the Chabad organization announced its intention to organize another drive as early as next week.
Hours earlier in Borough Park, thousands of Jewish New Yorkers filled the streets for a vigil.
NYPD Ins. Richie Taylor expressed that it is undeniably inspiring. He also mentioned that they offer prayers for those individuals who have unfortunately been taken captive or held as hostages.
Taylor watched over the peaceful prayers.
Taylor stated that the night held great significance for numerous individuals within Borough Park. He emphasized the police department’s commitment to ensuring everyone’s safety by implementing counterterrorism measures.

In Clinton Hill, students and families gathered to light candles and stand strong for their brothers and sisters in the war.
Resident Lara Krinsky firmly stated that the current era is not comparable to 1933, emphasizing that the community refuses to remain silent or complicit. She asserted that they will not allow the world to ignore the events unfolding before them.

In New York, Krinsky expressed her sense of helplessness.
Krinsky pointed out that each and every one of us is acquainted with someone who has been summoned to engage in battle. Furthermore, every one of us is personally acquainted with an individual currently stationed on the front lines. Additionally, a significant number of us have close friendships with those individuals who are currently being held captive by Hamas.
Rabbi Yossi Eliav conveyed to his congregation that their determination holds great power.
Eliav expressed that by engaging in acts of goodness, they firmly believed in actively contributing to positive change in Israel.
Individuals who lack the ability to fight are discovering methods to become actively involved in the fight.
