NEW YORK – From street corner to street corner, the stories of the voiceless can be seen.
Nitzan Mintz introduced her as Raz, a 4-year-old.
Chances are, you’ve come across the countless flyers plastered across the entirety of New York City.
Mintz explained that the girl had been taken from her residence, leaving her mother clueless about her whereabouts.
Despite being from Israel, Little Raz’s photo and story have managed to spread to every corner of New York City, capturing the attention of countless others who are currently missing.
She inquired about the treatment of babies in this place. Would they hold them captive? Would they provide them with milk?
After being informed about the disappearance of innocent civilians, Israeli artists Nitzan Mintz, Dede Bandaid, and Tal Huber decided to personally intervene. It is believed that these individuals were abducted following an attack by Hamas on Israel via air, land, and sea last Saturday.
According to Mintz, “Being far away from home left us feeling powerless and despondent, unsure of our next steps. However, we decided to utilize our artistic abilities.”
The Kidnapped Campaign has now gained international momentum, spanning across continents from Asia to Europe, and even reaching our own homeland.
Elinor Harpaz expressed, “We had a strong sense of obligation to take action.”
Harpaz and Romi Balbi, both Israeli citizens, are among the numerous individuals worldwide who are assisting in putting up the flyers.
Harpaz emphasized that even the smallest detail can assist individuals overseas in comprehending that this incident is indeed an act of terrorism.
People have torn down flyers in various parts of the world, including New York City; however, the artists remain determined to persist in their mission.
Mintz expressed, “They have the power to demolish them… However, we will counter by adding an additional 10,000. This campaign seems to carry a greater purpose, as if it’s a grander directive. I no longer feel like I am merely serving in the army or acting as a reserve; instead, this has become my ultimate reserve.”
The Kidnapped Campaign has permission from each missing person’s family to share their story. For more information, you can visit Mintz on Instagram @NitzanMintz, or click here.
