During the rally, a speaker expressed the sorrow felt by those of us who have lost family members to murder. We mourn not only our friends, but also their children.
Another speaker expressed sorrow for the present situation in which political leaders in the U.S. and Israel perceive ongoing violence against civilians as an inevitable consequence.
Hours earlier, the Yeshiva University community stood in unity in song and prayer to show solidarity with Israel.
Yeshiva University president, Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, emphasized the importance of unity and strength in our collective efforts to eliminate evil from our midst.
On the Upper West Side, hundreds of Jewish New Yorkers in Stephen Wise Free Synagogue have been paralyzed by worry and are praying for their brothers and sisters in Israel.
Rabbi Ammiel Hirsch expressed his belief that the majority of American Jews are facing significant challenges. He conveyed his deep anguish and concern, not only regarding the current hostilities but also the potential future conflicts.
