The Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced earlier this month that it has partnered with Flagship Solutions Group for the 2022 MMA Season.
Flagship Solutions is a business partner of IBM Gold, which means that PFL will have access to IBM’s artificial intelligence and cloud-based technology to enhance visibility in the cage and provide better outcome predictions for fans.
“Flagship is honored to support PFL’s tremendous growth and success,” said Flagship Solutions Group CEO, Mark Wyllie. “With technology solutions powered by Flagship’s cloud capabilities under our ‘We Run IT, You Use IT’ campaign.”
Better outcome predictions for fans mean more accurate odds and an improved gambling experience for MMA sports bettors as well.
PFL most innovative plus fastest developing sports little league
The League has already achieved the number 2 spot among global MMA organizations. Six hundred million fans view the fight coverage live in 160 countries worldwide.
Their talent roster is teeming with elite fighters, with one out of four fighters individually ranking in the top 25 MMA fighters globally. Kayla Harrison and Ray Cooper III, the 2021 PFL champions, are among those ranked fighters.
More than 25 blue-chip brands, including IBM, Anheuser-Busch, DraftKings, and GEICO, have sponsored PFL.
PFL’s success lies in the fact that they are the first, and only, MMA league that follows a true sports-season format. Fighters from around the world compete not only in the regular season but also in the playoffs and championships.
Four of the highest points-earning fighters in each division advance to the playoffs, where they either succeed or go home. The PFL World Championship follows the playoffs and is historically the biggest night in MMA.
Each champion earns a $1,000,000 prize.
Mixed technology provides next generation lover experience
PFL is already a market leader in technology that views and measures fighters’ performance to provide Fighter Performance Ratings.
The SmartCage technology shows fans what’s happening in the cage and gathers performance insights through Cageonomics data. This has enabled real-time sports betting and a next-generation viewing experience.
The League’s current technology is further enhancing through a partnership with Flagship Solutions Group. It will provide them with the ability to utilize IBM’s Watson machine learning and cloud technology.
“The Professional Fighters League is pioneering the future of MMA with proprietary technology that enables presenting the sport like never before, and we’re thrilled to expand our partnership with Flagship Solutions Group and IBM for the 2022 season,” said Peter Murray, PFL’s CEO. “Integration of fighter data and fight analytics in our live broadcast and streaming events has created an impressive next-gen experience for MMA fans.”
Professional Practitioners League normal season commences with a hammer
The third event of the PFL’s regular 2022 season took place on May 6.
Kayla Harrison, a 2-time PFL World Champion, made her 2022 debut on this day. She lived up to her reputation as the greatest MMA fighter with a victory over Marina Mokhnatkina.
On June 17, the next PFL event will take place. It will feature both Lightweights and Light Heavyweights fighting for the win. The events are viewable on both ESPN and ESPN+.
